We caught up with Brand Ambassador and International Dressage Rider, Sara-Jane Lanning for our quick fire Q and A..

If you hadn’t been a rider which career path would you have taken?

I would have probably been a skier! I started skiing at the age of 3 and nearly went off to boarding school in Austria when I was 11 to start training properly but was not brave enough to leave home and go abroad alone!

Do you have a nick name or used to and if so what was/is it and why?

At school I was known as Olive Oil (from Popeye) as I was so skinny!

Are you addicted to anything?

Chocolate
 

Which guests dead or alive would you invite to a dinner party?

Jeremy Clarkson, Princess Anne, and Russell Brand (as my dad lived next door to him in California and used to chat to him over the garden fence and was always saying what a gent he was!) 

Best piece of advice that anyone has ever given you?

Believe in yourself!

Best advice you have given or could give someone?

Never give up!

Favourite meal and tipple?

Steak and chips and a glass of Merlot

If you could be invisible for the day what would you do?

Stand at the scoreboards and listen to the competitors’ comments about us judges!

What is your favourite programme and why?

Much to my partner’s disgust -  it’s Eastenders!

Your favourite film and why?

Last of the Mohicans

Secret crush?

Don’t have one!

What’s your top training tip?

All horses are different so need different approaches

Who do you most admire?

Carl Hester

Last equestrian item you bought?

4 pairs of over reach boots

What makes you cry?

Remembering my dad who died on Valentine’s Day 2014.

Who of what couldn't you live without?

My partner Andrew.

Which horse (dead or alive) would you love to own and why?

Valegro!!!

The amazing quality and the attention to the correct fit of not only the horse but equally importantly the rider!
