We're expanding west and turning Ireland ORANGE! 11 years or so ago Tricia had a phone call from ‘some chap’ from a company called Childeric Sellier who asked me if she would consider the opportunity to be the distributor for their brand of saddles in the UK and Ireland. Although Tricia already worked in the industry - she had never seen the saddles and was fairly despondent with the industry. Their product and their passion changed her mind - so she didn’t have to go back into a real world job - she could do something that would use her fitting skills, people passion and marketing expertise. She had a little dream that one day people may well have heard of Childeric Saddles! Its taken thousands of miles by Tricia, then Helen, then Michelle, then Jess (Tricia's right hand woman).
Having always gone over to Ireland when needed - firstly mainly for Mike and Trish Ryan, then for Richard Ames. We fitted several Irish riders over here - Anthony Condon, Austin O’Connor, Jonty Evans - and that filtered us back into Ireland. In the last 2 or 3 years Tricia has been going over every month then this year it got to twice a month. Then in January Elliott Reeves called asking if there was any work going. He brought with him a fantastic knowledge of show jumping and his personality fitted in with us so well. Elliott spent six months training with Tricia and the team and during this time it became apparent he would be more than happy to move to Ireland and look after all our clients there. This meant the creation of Childeric Saddles (Ireland) Ltd which made sense since Brexit and our lovely Irish customers - now too many to name - could have even better care and attention given to them. Tricia now only has to fly over to see everyone - which makes her feel very grown up, as and when she is needed, rather than on a too frequent a basis. Childeric is still a tiny company with an enormous passion and a fantastic bespoke product and service. We don’t work on budgets or targets - we just answer the phone and try our best to solve the problem in front of us, and that is what makes us so special. Comments are closed.
