Our dressage clients were out in force at the Summer dressage spectacular - Hartpury Festival of Dressage. With classes from the 5th - 10th July it was a busy week for #teamchilderic with entrants in the Young Horse Semi-Finals, the Young Pony Finals, and the CDI3*. Elli Darling may have been on the smallest mount, Renzo Renaissance DP at 13hh, but he's certainly full of presence and power. After qualifying at Beechwood Equestrian, in only his first outing, Renzo's second ever competition was in the International Arena at Hartpury, for the final of the British Dressage Young Pony 5-YO Championship. With a little support from Becky Moody, Elli rode for the win, taking the title with a brilliant 80%! It was a dream finish for Sara-Jane Lanning who rode Hawtins Lirica to 3rd place in the CDI3* Prix St George on Friday. Capitalising on their success they went on to claim 5th in the CDI3* Inter I with a score of 71.08%, in what was Lirica's second time at the level.
Fiona Bigwood was on form with the gentle giant that is Daytona Platinum as they took the win in the CDI3* Grand Prix. "He is such a superstar and totally trusted me throughout the test despite being unsettled when we first went around the outside of the arena. I cannot thank my team enough (especially Abbie) as they have worked tirelessly to help this gorgeous boy trust new scenarios and to find confidence. He truly is one special horse" said Fiona. The pair went on to take 2nd place in the CDI3* Grand Prix Freestyle, behind Team GBR team mate Gareth Hughes and KK Dominant. The star of the show, with five wins to her name, was Becky Moody.
We're thrilled for everyone as we get to witness the hardworking and determination they put into competing and producing these horses. We send our congratulations to everyone who made it to the Festival, regardless of where they finished. Comments are closed.
